Had my first experience with sushi tonight. I think I'll stick to deep frying my fish. :smile2: The Japanese chef was fun to watch though.

I cant imagine the sushi in Cincinnati being any better than KC. :smile2: Chris sushi is definitely an acquired taste. I like my fish cooked as well. That and sushi is so damn expensive. I know its supposed to be alot fresher than most fish houses fish, but I dont care. Id rather have mine fried, baked, or grilled.

DON"T EAT IT!! More sushi for me!!

You have to make it yourself, but catfish also makes a good ingredient for sushi!

But then, I like very thinly sliced raw venison and raw oysters too.

Raw fish should be cooked or have a hook in it.
I wouldn't most oriental food on a bet.

Alright guys, I admit, sushi is kinda "uppity" for catfishermen, but I love it. I make it myself, only when I can aquire FRESH Tuna or Fresh Sockeye. to each their own. Just a thought for ya, the Japanese eat gizzard shad sushi(of wich I will not be partaking).

Sushi is safely made from ocean fish since our systems are immune to
salt water parasites. Fresh water fish have parasites in their flesh which
are a danger to us if we eat it raw. Cooked, though, these parasites are
just more protein for us to absorb! Remember those little black and yellow
specks in bluegill fillets? Those are the cyst form of freshwater parasites.

For the record, I eat oysters on the half shell and sushi when available.
I'd rather tear into a big steaming platter of catfish fillets most of the
time, to tell the truth, but when in Red Lobster one dines differently.
