What a way to start out my vacation!! Got off work tonight and decided to hit a local farm pond with my buddies from work. They got there about a half hour before me and about 10 minutes before I got there, Robert called me and had just landed a 27lb blue cat...so I get there, put some goldfish on my poles and throw out. About 45 minutes later, the clicker on my baitcaster went nuts!! I set the hook and immediately knew it was a brute fish. After about a 15 minute struggle, I pulled in the largest fish I have ever caught: A 37lb 11oz flathead catfish!! What a night!!! I am stoked....I just hope the rest of my vacation goes this well!! Here are a couple pics:

Nice to see how big things can come out of little packages. Congrats and more like that one to come your way.

Man, that is one huge flathead, way to go! I can't wait to tangle with one this year. I know some of those farm ponds have huge cats in them, a lot of people just dump tons of small baitfish in them and just let those cats gorge themselves.

Scott, nice fish . I too live in INDY if you need a netman to helpout, let me know. Sometimes the small waters really surprise you. i know of a small stream that everybody that drives over the bridge says "there can't be any fish in there" but my family knows better. We do try to keep the rumors going .
