well they shut truman dam off tonight at midnight :sad2::sad2:

now they will do that off and on crud durring peek hours usually a couple hours in the morning and a few hours in the evening ...

when they do this and your fishin down below the dam with no water running the best way to catch them is to spider rig with live bait shad or gills around 2 foot to 10 foot off the bottom .

this has produced many big fish for me about a week to 2 weeks after they kill the water .

last year i caught over 300 lbs in 6 hours doing this 2 in the 50 lb range and several 20s to 30s and smaller .
a couple years ago my dad caught 1 around 65 lbs and a bunch from 15 to 40 lbs .

just tryin to help and give some info ..

good luck guys and gals !!!!!:big_smile:

Man it sux they shut the tap off on yall. I know below dams and in lakes no water moven shuts em down for a few weeks. Wish they would shut the tap off on the MO river lol been high all year, oh well good for the fish.

I am hoping that the keep the water going for awhile. Did really well on friday and would like to go back again in a week or so.

Guess if they shut the water off I will have to break out the bow and try to wreak some havoc on the ole asain carp.

YeeHee! Glad I made it down there in the nick of time! :cool2:

Saw many folks spider-lining and drifting already.

Also...the water dropped 2-3' while we were there. Surprised we even caught anything.

Dog days of summer are here! Ug:sad2: I looked at the real time data graph for below Warsaw and the water level dropped lower last night than it has in the last 60 days. Thats as far back as the data has on file.
I bet thats has the Big fish screaming " RETREAT!!" LOL

I wuz down there july1,2,3 left on the 4th in the morning to go to Lawrence KS to camp with my son. While I was there I didn't get much but others were doing great off the tall dock fishing in the back current. We were gonna fish at Clinton lake but decided it would be a colossal waste of time because we skeered away all the fish with all the far works we shot off earlier. Met Jeff Beard at the dock though.
