to see people that praise products from one company and talk about how much they hate products from another company...

when both companies are owned by the SAME company. :Money:

People love Abu and hate Penn... They love Penn and hate Shakespeare... Berkley Big Game rules and Stren sucks...

    JARDEN owns:

    Ball
    Bee®
    Bionaire
    Crock-Pot®
    Abu Garcia
    Berkley®
    Bicycle®
    FoodSaver®
    Campingaz®
    Crawford®
    Harmony®
    Coleman®
    Diamond®
    Health o meter®
    Fenwick®
    Dicon®
    Holmes®
    Gulp!®
    First Alert®
    Mr. Coffee®
    JT®
    Forster®
    Oster®
    K2®
    Hoyle®
    Rival®
    Marker®
    Java Log®
    Seal-a-Meal®
    Marmot®
    Kerr®
    Sunbeam®
    Mitchell®
    Lehigh®
    VillaWare®
    Penn®
    Leslie-Locke®
    White Mountain™
    Rawlings®
    Loew-Cornell®
    Shakespeare®
    Pine Mountain®
    Sevylor®
    Stearns®
    Stren®
    Trilene®
    Volkl®

You've got to wonder how much of the products are made side by side in the same factory?? Maybe when your (insert name here) reel fails, it's because the parts from a Sunbeam toaster got substituted?

Yeah, it's cold outside, I have a migraine/sinus headache, and I'm BORED. :gotu:

I like stren myself, been using it for years. Don't know enough about penn to say if its good or bad, like coleman, have a old mitchell reel, have a couple of fenwick rods, got some gulp somewhere, always did love cindy crawford. We have a couple of crock pots we use from time to time, and I have a few shakespere rods laying around, never did use that harmony dating service though. My first rod and reel was berkley, and they will always have a place in my heart. But I do know something about abu reels, I've been using them for years, and I have quite of few of them.

Some products get relabeled multiple times and rebranded. Price scale slides depending on Vendor and contract they bartered.

Thanks bro. I've been fighting with it for the past week.. one day is good, one day is hell. Back and forth. 800mg of ibuprofen makes it bearable. Most of the time.

    Hope you feel better yourself!

Sometimes the quality improves over time, sometimes not. Also depending on model of the equipment whether or not it is good or bad. Not everyone can afford the top quality, but can still have a good time with what they got. Then there are modifications.

I bought a piece of equipment the other day, not sure who makes it, but it was junk, broke the first day of use, in a couple hours. For about the same price I coulda got something more durable but it wasn't available.

I still have a place for my zebco 202.

Just because there are many products owned by one conglomeration,Doesn't mean they are all of equal quality. I switched from stren to trilene years ago, they are quite different in the way they each react .

I agree with Richard on this post. There is a lot of difference in Berkley and Stren. I prefer Berkley.
