Is this a Flathead catfish?

    I caught this 10lb fellow this morning, but I'm not sure what kind of catfish it is.

    Tha tail is a dead giveaway.Blues and channels have deep forks in there tails.Flatheads have squared off tails

    I would like to see more photos, no doubt it is a flathead, but that is the "pointiest" headed flathead I have ever seen! It is probably just the angle of the picture, but the nose of the fish looks more like a channel than any flathead I have ever seen.:confused2:

    Oh yeah, it was great.

    Hooked that dude at the Granger Dam spillway, using an Abu 5500 Ultra Cast, 7' Tournament Choice fiberglass rod, and cut bait.
    He put a heckuva fight! The blood was pumping. I thought maybe I had hooked a Carp, as that is usually what happens when I get a good fish on the line, so I was double excited when I saw it was actually a Catfish!

    Too bad there was nobody around for me to lord it over and brag too.

    Only thing I regret is keeping him and eating him. I really wish I had just tossed him back, even though he was only 10lbs. My personal best though by 2lbs.
