Is this a caltalpa tree?

    do caltalpa trees have heart shaped leaves with green bean looking things hanging from them? if not then i give up on finding a tree in eastren ky

    You described on to a "t". Now the problem is that not all trees have worms. They have to be spread by an insect and hatch... cross your fingers that you will be lucky. Look on the underside of the leaves for the green n black worms.

    sounds like these guys have you covered. Now that you know what to look for you may be able to get some catalpa worms for your tree and for bait.

    i know the ones that have the beans are either a male or a female tree and the other is the opposite gender. either way i have never seen a worm on the "bean tree's", only the ones without them.

    I think redbud trees have the same features. I had thought I had a bonanza of catalpa trees nearby until I was told that they were redbuds.
