I was catching some nice fish in the middle of march when the river was down and clear.Everything has changed since then and I cant buy a fish.If Mother nature was handling the river it would have been back down again by now.But since USACE is doing it I doubt if the river will get down all year. They dont let enough water out when they could and then it rains again and just stays high.I was fishing the mouth of creek today thinking that would be the key to some fish where the clear creek meets the muddy river but it didnt work.I took some interesting pictures of the mudline boiling up into creek mouth to show how muddy it is.

Ray, all i can say is drop them mudholes like a bad habit. Brought yourself on over to Truman lake to the Missouri gathering the middle of may and catch some clean fish. At least ya can eat a mess if ya don't catch any. Great vittles, friends and fun times. Come see us. jf

Interesting pictures. Seems like the muddy water would warm faster. The fish might be in the main river.

I expected them to be right on mudlineat mouth of creek but couldn't get a bite.Would cast out in main current and let bait fall out in eddy.

Sounds like a good plan to me. Maybe once it decides to be spring and we can get away from winter temps. :confused2:

Friday afternoon my son and I were standing at the Humboldt dam watching the river come up again. This is the 3rd time its been over flood stage in a month. There has been a huge log jam piling up on bridge just above the dam for several years and almost had the river plugged up.All of a sudden there was deafening crash that just went on and on and then I saw logs moving through the trees and realized the log jam had broken loose. My camera was in my tackle bag in my truck at home so I didnt get any pictures. It would have made a good shot for the news. The river was packed completely solid with logs from bank to bank and growing as it went because it was breaking off overhanging trees on the bank. The first of it was rounding the curve down river before the last of it came by.Sure would have made a good video.
