I Have Not Trolled For Any In Rivers As Of Yet, But I Have Had Some Luck In Lakes. I Like To Use Bluegill Heads And Nightcrawlers For Bluecats. Also After A Nice Rain, I Will Gob A Few Nightcrawlers And Sorta Troll Like You Are Bass Fishing A Worm. Ive Caught A Few Fish Doing This, The Biggest Was A 24# Flathead. I Forgot To Add Leaches. Hope It Helps!!

I have never tried trolling for Flats, but I have caught several while trolling for strippers and white bass. All of the Flats were smaller fish up to 5#. I have also caught several channels and blues trolling. All have been caught in the summer or when water temps were above 70.Also,most were less than 5ft deep over deeper water.

    Yes you can.
Trolling is not so far removed from drift fishing. I have seen guys troll crankbaits along rip-rap shorelines and catch plenty of channels and guys who troll similar areas at night for walleye have told me they occasionally catch flatheads...W

I have caught plenty of channels trolling but very few flatheads in the lake I fish on.

Never have caught any flatheads trolling, best results I have had is to anchor down over heavy structure.
