Anybody fish these in your area? Most canals are easy to fish from the bank.We went out a few times this summer and did ok. Nothing over a few pounds. Anybody have any luck?

try early morning/late night with BIG bait close to the mouth and the head of the canal..and be silent and patient...big boys will come into feed

Most of the canals around here are dry this time of the year.We checked them out and found some deep holes where the canals split apart and around a couple of locks that should produce some nice fish next summer. I talked to one of the irrigation district maintenance workers and he said he sees people catching monster fish every summer!
