I don't like it at all. It takes away some of the excitement of the game.

I personally think they should change a walk to be equal as a double. That would put a stop to the high # of walks.

take a baseball to your foot or ankle off a bat
get ran over guarding the plate (without protective gear)
have a ball smack your ear

    pain is in any sport.

jw likes footy footy footballers LOL:tounge_out: :eek:oooh: :embarassed:

Or have an over zealous linebacker(@300lbs) Make you walk with a limp for the rest of your life, that doesn't happen in The two B-ball games, LOL!!!

hmmm 300 lb linebacker? can you name one?

to answer the original question, no, i wouldnt want the int walk done away with. its part of the strategy of the game. as a manager you're putting a runner on the bases gambling that the next batter wont get a hit. now some have suggested just let the catcher tell the ump intentional walk instead of having to actually throw the 4 pitches, but i dont like that idea either. the pitcher could still make an errant wild pitch, or like back in the '70's, i saw a game playoff i think where on a 3-2 count the catcher showed the int walk sign. as the batter stood up there nonchallantly, the catcher quickly sat back down and the pitcher threw a strike before the batter realized he had been had!

Leave the intentionable walk in the game. Its the DH that needs to go.

I think it ought to be a law against anyone over 13 years old playing ball.

    daniel ,
that actually happened today in the cards vs senators
their pitcher threw a wild pitch and advanced runners from 1st and 2nd to 2nd and 3ed. it was great.
    it backfired on them .
i agree its a part of the game .

at least in baseball the players dont grab asses and breakdance at the end of a routine play. please get a grip on your assessment of major league sports.
football used to be a pretty masculine and hardcore game
nowdays its full of freaks thinking they are gods gift acting like goofy children on the field.
and although they are very masculine and its a rough sport .
they make their selves look like nancys slapping their buddies on the ass and doing their victory pranceing on a routine play .
    it looks foolish.
baseball is more professional (most of the time).
i think the guys that dont like baseball were picked last to play on the school yard baseball teams.:tounge_out:

i Totolly Agree With Doing Away With The Dh Hitter. Pitchers Are Paid Toplay Ball And They Should All Have To Bat. In Both Leagues. But I Still Don't Like The Intional Walk.
