I hit somethng in the high water that broke some parts in my lower unit, I took it to a shop and they quoted me $3600 to fix it. I don't have that kind of money laying around (daughter married three weeks ago) so I looked on the net, made several phone calls coast to coast and located a used one with a warranty in alabama, $800 includeing a new impeller(sp?) on the water pump. It should get here the middle of this week. I assume I just need to put both in neutral, slide them together and bolt them up. Is there anything else I need to know. I can't just look at how I take it apart. The shop just gave me a box of parts.
    It's a 2003 mercury 60HP EFI 4 Stroke serial#OT804371 Model#60ELPT4S
    Thanks

I'll look this evening when I get in from work and see if I can locate you an exploded view of that lower unit.
