I saw a 14' ACHILLES INFLATABLE BOAT listed for sale ( on another forum) and was thinking something like that would be nice to carry along in the camper to use if needed on a long camping trip, say from Oklahoma to Alaska and back.
What are your thoughts and experiences with these?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mark

I was around them some in the Coast Guard, but those were heavy-duty rigid hull inflatables (RHI). They were pretty tough, but then, so are tires, and I've had more than my share of flats. I have a hard time taking them very seriously for fishing.

That said, the appeal for a trip like you describe is undeniable.

The one I mentioned above was over $4,000 new, I was in Anchorage last week and saw some made for river float hunts that looked about 12' long and had a $5,200 price tag!

I could pull my boat but not knowing if you need it or not on a 6,000 mile trip seems like a waste.
