On August 20th the In-fisherman t.v. show is showing a segment on "Catching huge flatheads with cutbait" just thought you would like to know. I have seen a segment similar to this that Scott Hoffman has done and he basically was fishing in the middle of the day with cut bait and cathcing flats that most people dream about. Interesting stuff, check it out if you get a chance.

I have seen both the bluecat and flathead segments, they have been broadcast before. They are all right but nothing really special. I thought the segment where Hoffman was claiming to catch flatheads with swimbaits in the winter was way below the normal In-Fisherman standards. It looked like he was snagging hibernating flatheads.
I liked the recent rebroadcast of Doug Stange small stream channels. You could see he is a master catman and it is something anyone of us could easily do. You can learn a lot by watching the In-Fisherman catfish segments.

That segment was filmed up in my neck of the woods. The flatheads concentrate in a number of deep wintering holes where they were filming at. And yes, they were rip jigging blade baits in these wintering holes. Half the flatties are snagged and half were caught in the mouth. I don't think there is a flathead angler up here that liked to see that technique promoted, it really exposed the vulnerability of them during cold water periods.

That's messed up... My only experience with "In Fishermen" is a computer fishing game I bought, and it really stinks!
