A very simple thing, I've seen them all my life but never seen a tortoise dig a hole and lay it's eggs until yesterday just before dark. Must took her a couple hours to dig the hole, she dug it as deep as she could reach. Using one back foot and switching each time she brought the dirt out. Then lay the 3 eggs in minutes and probably took another hour covering the hole. I was on the deck about 15 ft above.

Thanks for sharing. I have never seen a turtle lay eggs, though I have found plenty of them as a youngster. We would find them in the morning while digging in the sand at the local swimming beach. They look like ping pong balls.

Nice pictures. My 10yr old loves to see all these nature pictures on here. It's nice to have pictures like that to share with our kids, especially if it is something that is rarely seen for yourself.

Great pictures, I've never witnessed that. Last weekend I was fish'n on Lake Nimrod here in Arkansas, went into a small cove and kept seeing white things all over the bank. Got closer to look and it was turtle eggs that had hatched out, 100's of them. The banks in that cove were shale and must have made a good nest'n site, cause they sure had used it, there must have been close to 150 feet of bank that was covered in turtle egg shells.
