ok, the duramax is a great engine. It is the first GM diesel worth having.
the cummins has proven itself time after time, my aunt who hauls cattle for a living had one with over600k on the odometer before she blew the engine.
i have had no problems with my duramax, neither has either of my uncles (both use to be die hard ford fans)

the power joke i had (99 3/4 ton 4wd) was terrible. it was in the shop alot (mainly front end work) and only got 11mpg.

the cummins i got after i got rid of the ford was the best diesel i ever had but it was ugly, loud, and rode terrible. (93 2wd 3/4 ton)
but it got 24mpg, and almost 30mpg when running on JP8

You my want to add a few things under that boxy hood of yours. You know that I'm cranking 200 hp over stock now and its getting 150 horse propane injection. I can smoke all fours in the back now. That Duratrash with choke on the black cloud pouring out of the POWERstroke:lol: You may get the gas milage and the top speed since I've got 4:10s. But take off see ya. Or pulling power well not need to say anything bout that.

Look at that little thing init cute!!! cummins still bigger
Well you see I dont know why you guys are arguing because ford dont make there engines international does, dodge makes there trucks but cummins shakes them, and as for gm mitsubishi makes them which is actually made in austraila so bottom line is whos moter is gonna out do the other. lol by the way this aint helpin me find a moter:lol:

    bad info dude,
    cummins is owned by ford.
and Isuzu makes the duramax but Isuzu has been owned by GM for several years now. Mitsubiti is a Chrysler product.

now what kind of motor were u needing 12 valve or 24? HO or not?

well, i hope that u have a manual tranny and new clutch because i will be choking, on aspestus when that big white cloud comes out from under ur truck!!!!
in all seriousness have u heard of the new box that banks is about to put out for the duramax? it can give 800 rear wheel hp! That is just scary to me, imagine how many u-joints i could shatter in the first 1000 miles of driving that thing hard!
