well after fishing this weekend and having my sprial rod holder bent all up.... i had a HUGE HUGE hit and it just bent the darn thing... sooooo

i got some 5/8ths rebar and im gonna make some tomorrow....... they will be verticle holders.... ill have 2 diamond shapes welded onto a longer piece... the diamonds will hold the rod and the longer piece will keep it in the ground.....

ill cover them in tape and there ya go... cheap easy to make rod holders.... ill make 3 of em ill weld on a little stub of rebar below the bottom diamond a few inches below as to keep the rod from goin all the way down to the reel.....

    how does this sound???

    Thanks
    Jeff

I made some nice ones out of stainless steel. Just take about 6-8 inches of 1 1/2" pipe and weld 18 to 24 inches of 5/16 rod to the side it. They stick in even rocky ground and I've never had a fish bend one.
