where is good spot to go if any1 knowz. my partners left me hanging cant go alone to bartlett
good luck out there Adrian remember i typically use 2 bags of anchoives a night size 1/0 or 2/0 hooks i like to see big stripers in 30+ feet of water and the bite usually picks up really good at 12am till 6 am what ive noticed at least:wink:
Anchor in 60+ foot of water and fish around the thermocline ( typically 25-35 foot ) and definitely bring a few pounds of anchovies because those small ones are bait thievin' little bastards! Go up in the north end in the river arm and remember to CHUM alot!
One popular spot is just outside the tires at the marina. Just don't up to them, use your anchor or you will get fined.
I like both the river and the tires area, opposite ends of the lake though. From December 15 through June 15 the river is closed, so that basically leaves the tires in winter. Also, for bait, try frozen squid from an asian supermarket as well as anchovies.
got 20 of them smalles 18 inch biggest was a 22 inch couple of them got away . i was ina cove caught couple shads (huge ones 3 inches
) cut them up and used them . instant hits by the harbor marina lotta shad if u guyzneed . i got there around 1 am and left at 6 got 9 quils too and i was happy
adrian you seem to hit the waters at times that most of us are sleeping or already fishing. I read in some of your post your heading to the water as early as 2:00 a.m. With much success of course. It almost seems like you have to get in and out of the lake before the wife wakes Up..lol :smile2:
or do you just feel those are prime fishing hours?
stripers r prtty easy at plez. u jus find shad, an drop anchor with sum anchovie an you good to go! might wanna use sum weight to get it down past tha little ones.
Good luck, be safe, and have fun :cool2:
