Maybe a dumb question. But how do you know which flooded timber to fish? Over the weekend we fished near timber where current was flowing and caught a few. I watched and listened for tail slaps or any odd noises. I never saw or heard anything. Thanks for the advice.

We move around until we find them. The timber we fish
is dry land at pool stage.I have my best luck were there is an open area.
One area we fish has 3 little spring fed ponds at low water.I.m talking 4 inchs of water.I don't have to worry about weeds or vegetation in them.

Tried it yesterday afternoon for a few hours. Boated 3, on Sonnys. All nice. Water temperature was 53 and they were biting very lightly. Will only get better with a little bit of warm weather.

We went the other day and never got a bite.Water was really muddy and running fast.
Hopefully it will drop and they will open the river back up soon.
I went and fish a pond at my daughters Mon and didn't catch anything.
I was hoping to get into the crappies but the pond was up and supper muddy.

Finally made it out yesterday.Bite was slow and only caught 1 smaller fish.

I did catch a nice mess of gills at my daughters lake.
They were on their beds.

I will get out more often now that the weather is better.
