I was wondering what are the best lakes in illinois to catch huge flatheads? (I usually just fish rivers but trying to expand!!)

Power plant lakes (Powerton, Lasalle, Baldwin, Clinton) can be good but very unpredicable at times, mostly due to water temperatures fluctuating. Large impoundment lakes (Rend, Carlyle, Shelbyville) should all have good numbers of flatheads.

my favorite is rend, but you are gonna hear alot of different answers here. people have different luck on a lot of lakes including carlyle, baldwin, coffeen and clinton, but u really just have to get out there and see what happens.
