If you were in a hurry

    If you were in a hurry were would you go to catch bait quick. I use a cast net and work the shallows. Were and how would you catch your bait.

    Usually I throw the net on the wind blown side. I have better luck near grass in shallow water. The sides of boat docks can be good also. At RC on both sides of the bridge near the hotel ( I can't remember the name of the hotel) early in the morning.

    I catch all the shad I want at retaining walls. I go just at daylight. Be as quiet as you can W/ the cast net. They spook easy.

    Spillways against a wall is the best place...From there go downstream and try to keep to the wind in your face....The reason is that shad feed on Phytoplankton and planton will drift to the wind side of the stream/lake....However, in strong current, they will be around the "current breaks" and the farther downstream, the slower the current....Dwight
