You made the RIGHT choice. Drove all night, arrived 6:00am, fished 8 hours, two guys, 40-50 skipjack total. That might be a high estimate.

White curly tail grubs mostly because that the ONLY thing that worked. Tried sabikis plus other color grubs with zero success. Tried deep, shallow, fast, slow, steady retrieve, jerk, jig etc.

Slow for all. Thats the way it goes sometimes.

Worn out, in the motel, done for the day.

Darryl, you should also try below Barkley Dam. Sometimes they are hitting good there when other places are slow.

Were gonna hit it for a little while in the morning then wrap up this disaster!:smile2:

Hopefully the morning will bring redemption!

To the guy from another thread offering to sell skips for $1.00, I might be interested.:smile2:

To the OTHER guy in same said thread trying to jew him down to $.50 per skip, you are outta your mind dude!

Mine seem to end up costing me $5.00 a piece after my excursions.:tounge_out:

We tried both sides, also close to the mouth on far side where John Stephens pointed out when he stopped by, couldn't even get a bite over there when we tried.

Just wasn't meant to be this trip. Took a first timer along to make it worse, he'll probably never come again.:embarassed: (To his credit, he isn't griping at all, I just feel like I overpromised foolishly, what it would be like down here.)
