My fellow BOC: Since my first thread on this forum I've been so impressed with all the really great responses & help you have been willing to share. That being said...
I've been fishin small lakes (Copan, etc) around Bartlesville the last year or so -- after reading about some of your fishing adventures, I would like to venture out of my comfort zone to where the real fishing is...remember I'm the Newbe - k?
So, If you fish Oologah, I would really like to hear from you...I don't have any idea where the boat ramps are, which one(s) is/are the most accessible, where is the most likely place to catch some nice blues or channel cats, which baits work best / which ones don't, which bait rig works for you / which ones don't. Not being able to catch a nice fish is like havin an itch I can't scratch -- Please help me out guys :)

I'm in the same boat as you Rick, i would love to get in to some good spots on Oologah, I've been fishing alot around Bartlesville lately, Cherekee Bridge, Skull Creek on the back side of Huluh, and pretty much anywhere i can find water. I have heard that there are some good fish around Winganon "SP?" Bridge on Oologah. If anyone has any other idea's I'm all ears

Forget the lake and fish the Verdigris river above the lake. Take highway 60 east through Nowata. You will cross the verdigris and kentucky creek. Take the first left and go North two miles and there is a campround/boat ramp. This is big creek ramp. Big creek is a feeder creek for the Verdigris and in the middle of the river. You can fish 9 or 10 miles upstream and 9 miles downstream until it hits the lake. 28000 acre lake and this is where you need to be fish. You can catch all the shad you need in big creek or some of the other creeks and catch some of the best flatheads in the state, lots of blues and channels.

There's plenty of catfish in Copan. Work the upper ends of the lake this time of year...they will be making there way upstream for the spawn.
