Welcome to the site, honestly I'm not so sure, I mean it does look like a Blue but every blue I've caught had a hump right behind its head. And I've caught a lot of channels that color around here....I guess I can't really help much.

Thanks guys. I am surprised. I did not think there were blues in the lake where I caught this one. The place is known for its channel cat fishery. Anyway, I think I am hooked on catfishing now.
Now I just need to figure out how to catch shad....

Well now, catching shad is fairly easy. You get close enough to put some salt on their tails, but grab them instead. lol. Actually, you need to get a cast net and spend a few hours on your lawn practicing before you ever go to the water. Look for shad flipping around on top of the water. Try not to throw a cast net into brush or rocks, unless you've recently won a substancial prize in the lottery. Apply patience and you will succeed. And that channel catfish lake definetly has blues in it. lol

Nice Channel Tom! Ist. You said Blues aren't known for the waters and 2nd the anal fin is not clear in the pic. But your leg looks nice and straight. lol
