Well.....it's finally here in Columbia!!! Well at least a few days ago, ice. I am planning on going down river to avoid the ice and duck hunt.

I need help. Can anyone post and tell if the ice has reached down river from me?? Mokane, Bonnots Mill, Herman...etc?

    :confused2:

Joe, this might help for the conditions at Atchison Kansas. It will at least give ya heads up of whats coming. Finally might be able to get out tomorrow morning to hunt.

Man don't you love these rivers....in the spring you dance with logs, in the winter you dance with icebergs.

When does duck season end anyways? Been wanting to catch some finicky channel cats in the side channels, but want to avoid being close to anyones blind.:eek:oooh:

Season ends on 12/29 north of I-70 and 1/5/10 south of I-70. I haven't seen many boats out hunting in my neck of the woods. I too am ready to get back to fishing!

I was on pool 25 last week and it was the most shots I ever heard when I was out there. I was suprised to see so many hunters on the river as I thought the flooding a month or so ago would have washed a lot of the blinds away. Sounds like they are having a good time out there.

Was hunting near Herman on saturday. No ice, nor ducks or geese to report. River was falling hard. I think it dropped about 6"s just while I was there.
