When ice fishing turns bad. oooh:
Somewhere in Minnesota.
OOPS!! Dang global warming! LOL!!
Frozen lakes are Mother Nature's way of saying, " Fishing season is over!"
At least that shack will provide good structure next spring.
Hey thats my shack! Oh wait, no its not! Some people just don't know when its time to remove the shack before its too late! It's too late for the one in the pic!
eek! I saw so much of that up in Northern Michigan... despite all the warnings, there's always someone who thinks he can tempt the elements.
Shanties, snowmobiles, 4-wheelers, entire pick-up trucks with a trailer hitched on... the folks in the recovery business never run out of business in the wintertimes!
Or this happens
LOL! Yeah, nothing like ruining expensive equipment on thin ice!
The place where I got that picture said the sheriff's dept. had barricaded the public access to the lake. But stupidity was still happening for they were having to rescue people.
Did you save the dog?
Did it run after that?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Maybe they just had the drag adjusted too tight.....
Funny thing is I have seen shacks like that this year and it is not because of getting them off the ice late, its cause it has been to warm for good ice.
We are only seeing about 6 to 8 inches of ice this year so far. Where on a normal year by now we would have 2 feet or more of ice. The last 2 years were bad ice also. I think mid 30's during the day and rain has alot to do with it.
Heck, if it's not global warmin', then they took a propane heater in there with them
Thank you for the pic...and that my man is EXACTLY why I won't ice fish.
