Alright here me out a friend of mine showed me this years ago only tried it a couple of times. What you do is get an ice cube tray a treble hook for each slot thread the liver on to the treble and place in cube tray repeat till full. let freeze. take tray with you fishing in cooler with plenty of ice. have a swivel on line so when changing hooks is quick and easy. Also you can get the liver out much further without it falling right off hope this helps in the hot weather also may float so weight is required adjust leader length to conditions weeds rocks etc..... Also Ive only used this method in lakes may work in rivers too

Interesting, how long does it take for the liver to thaw?

not sure but even after the thaw it is still there if you dont move it around the freezing point of it is pretty much for castability for us shore bound anglers

GOOD IDEE, I have read something like this before here on the boc.I believe his recipe was to blend the livers and garlic salt or ingriedients of your choice up and then place treble hooks in and then freeze. When ready to go fishing place in cooler and get some old panty hose or similiar material and pop a liver cube out and place a cut piece of panty hose around it,tie the top off with a short piece of fishing line and attach to swivel on line and its ready to go.The hose helps hold the ground up liver in and releases it slowly along with the thawing process.Sort of like a little chum sack but with a surprize in side.lol:smile2:
