I won a horse! My Sheriff was selling raffle tickets a month or so ago. It was to benefit an officer from the Texas Prison System. Well, I got a call from the Prison saying that I needed to come get my horse. I told them that I didn't have a horse and they said that you do now....lol I had forgotten all about it, and never expected to win, just wanted to help out. Looks like i'll be picking it up tomorrow.

Congratulations (or condolences). Whichever. Hope you've got a place for it. Horses are great for those who have the room and inclination to care properly for them, but I had my experience with them during my senior year of college while boarding on a farm. Learned to ride on a half-broke horse. And got to ride fence...and repair same. And take care of the cattle. Cattle are bad enough, but at least you can eat them. Horses require too much attention for my liking. Of course, my youngest daughter doesn't agree with me at all, and she's had horses. Where she's living now, she doesn't have room for them unless she completes fencing in the 5 acres I've got 4 or 5 miles from where she's living.

Yes, i've got the room for it. I've had livestock all my life, mostly cows, but have had a horse or two through the years. I'm not sure what I'm going to name it yet. I may leave the naming up to m daughter and better half. Then again, the name may have something to do with how well picking it up and the fist few days with it goes. I have no idea about the history of this horse. It will be an adventure though...lol

No, don't think I want to eat it...lol I'll post some pictures of it sometime this weekend. I need to take Christmas pictures off of my camera anyway.... It's a BIG horse.... not completely grown either, it's 3 years old and is a registered Gray Quarter Horse.

Still thinking of names. He's officially named "Pocos Peppy Jack BB". His previous owner called him Pete. We've thought about Queso, Mr. X-Mas, Enchilada, Horse, Gray, Silver, Silver Bells, Lucky, and Christmas....

Ok All, Meet Pete.... The Mrs. still hasn't decided on a name, so it's gonna stay Pete for now.
