and I don't feel guilty. a local food store has had a sale on t-bones for a week and a half - 3.59 a lb....my brother tried them and said they were great. i bought 20lbs at that price. and they are great! big dudes..an inch thick, well marbled. 3 to a package and the package weighs from 3.5 to 5.5 lbs.

talking to the wife about it last night and decided to get a few more today, since my freezer has lots of room. went back out and found out the t-bones were within 3 to 4 days of "sell by" date...they were marked down to 2.99 per lb...bought 16 more lbs....MMMMMMMMMM i am putting one on the grill now! baked tater and grilled corn on the cob....who is coming? let me know so i know how many t-bones to put on the grill:big_smile:

Throw a big one on for me Phil. Have a friend who is the manager of the meat department at a big local store. Just bought a 12 pac of bacon for $17 and it doesn't sell date until the 30th. A 12 pac of hot sausage for $5. They freeze on the sell date and will not put it out on the counter anymore after frozen.

actually, i think there is a price war going on. the store i bought at is trying to put their neighbor out of business, since they couldn't buy them out.

    hey! works for me!

there IS more to the story, but maybe i can explain it later:wink:

...lawdy lawdy you're makin my mouth water Phil; I'd love to find a deal like that around here, I'd probably buy 50# (depending on freezer space). Tina and I could eat steak just about everyday.
