    Hello, all!

It's that time of year again. It's the time where I begin asking questions about a species that I've never targeted before. This year: cobia.

I'm headed over to Outer Banks, NC so my mom can visit some of her friends. I, however, will be at the piers attempting to fish for cobia (and maybe bluefish).

The only thing that I know about these suckers is that they are regularly pretty big, and that's only because I've seen pictures.

If anyone has any idea how to fish for these things as far as tackle, technique, bait, rods, anything, please help! If any of you have fished there before and think that I should be going after another species, let me know that, too.

I don't care what I'm fishing for, I just want to be pulling something in. It will be my first time saltwater fishing and I hope to have pictures of a catch, not just pictures of me standing on a pier. :smile2:
