took a nap today and a great vision came to me. this is how it went. started out waking up in morning and going outside. couldn't touch side of boat cause of heat. (110) i said to myself, this is sweet. it's fishing season. but alass, it's the weekend, and all the idiots, drunks, wake borders, pleasure boaters, ect will be on river, and clogging the ramps. so i moped around thinking about it for a few hrs. then, it hit me like a bolt of lightning! MONDAY through FRIDAY is coming, am i'm retired and fish when ever. i start laughing now.
i'm gonna have boat ready to go, get my good friend mike and go out next week when fish have settled down and ready to chew. let those idiots play, drink, and do whatever. my vision says, fish are coming.
see, i also saw kinda blurry figures that looked like yahoos catching fish next week.

triple digits until friday. then still high 90's. water in river was averaging 77-78 in the current. perfect for everything.
got the pin hole in boat welded up today by a friend, gonna hit the water either mon or tues, and try to continue through the week.

Used to take Wednesdays and Thursdays off when I bass fished alot on heavily pressured lakes.
One lake in particular commonly had 4 tournaments a weekend by various clubs.
Usually took Monday and Tueday for things to settle down. By Wednesday she was prime for fishing.

gonna put plan into action tonight. mike will be over within hr. just gotta load ice chest and put into boat. we'll be heading out shortly after that. pole now rigged with Mustard hooks, size 8 extra heavy. running a trailer this time.

mike (thunderchicken) and i went out tonight. he had two runs. first one was a good heavy one, but bit just short of the darn hook. second is now cleaned and in fridges. only 6.1 lbs by his scale, but was his first fish in two yrs. dam, he was rank from the skunk. LOL.

I think you were just seein the heat Gary. LOL It's been pretty hot up here too, a few days of triple digits, but today is nice. Got the itch, gonna get out in a week and a half for some channels, I had a vision of catching an 82lb channel cat. LOL Sure wish I lived closer to that darn river. Thanks for sharing the report. Now, is it you or Mike that smells like a skunk now?:laugh1:

depends how you look at it. he smells like a real man now, not kinda perfumed up. my goal is a 50 plus flatty, so don't really mind not catching anything smaller except they taste good.
plus, your vision is false!!!! has to be done during daytime naps and you're too darn young to be sleeping during daytime. :rotfl:.
tis a great area to live in though, that i agree.
