i have an abu question

    guys i am wondering about the older model seven abu reels, are they just like the 7000 or what? thanks

    It's a SEVEN (black) and not a regular 7000 (red), 7000B (green), 7000C3 (silver), 7000BG (gold), right?

    The SEVEN's have that funky flip button and they are not "smooth", but I think you can land any catfish in the US on one. I think they were a very good reel.

    In my opinon and I may be alone in this, but I'll take a 10-20 year old Abu in mint shape over the newer versions. I think they were built to last a lifetime back then, not so sure I can say the same about today's models.

    I could not agree more. I only fish with vintage ABU reels they were built to last a life time. I won't buy any made after 84 to add to my collection.

    yea it is the model seven, this one was made in 1988, i have several 7000's and wondered what the story was on the model seven, thanks for the help

    I agree with the quality of the older ABU. You want go wrong buying them.
