Well, the rain last weekend managed to bring the Saline River up enough for me to get my boat up river a ways. So I went yesterday afternoon and put out a couple of lines. I'm about to go check them now in a few minutes. I was kind of suprised to see that the river didn't come up more than it did, I guess ya'll didn't get as much rain up above the Benton area as we did down here in Grant County ( we had 3" in our gauge). Well, the sun is up good so I'm going to get out there and check them. I waited until it warmed up some because I have to get wet to launch my boat where I'm going.

I'm going bach tonight with a couple of my friends and runs some yoyo's as well as my trotlines, and of course we'll take our rods.

I'll get back on later to give ya'll a report.

I checked my lines and only had one fish. Check out my new avatar.

33 pound flattie, caught on a trotline, a new personal best.

I wish it had been on a rod, but I'll take it this way too.

Hey way to go Jimmy Don. That is a dandy for sure. I wish that when I only caught 1 fish on a trip it would be one like that. Mine usually won't make a good bait for one like that. Maybe we will get some more rain like they are calling for this weekend.

That's a nice one Jimmy Don. I'd be right proud to have one of those.

Darn fine fish Jimmie Don. We only got 1&1/2 inches out of that rain. The bayou rose about 3 inches between tuesday morning and we. evening, but it was water backing up not running. I checked the big log jam above where I put in and it's still lower upstream. I don' know if somebody was blowing beaver dams or if its all the rice water they are releasing right now. We got 1&3/4 last night and this morning with more on the way. Maybe we'll get enough to do some good this go round. grizzly

True that, I've got to get rigged up for a fish that size first.
