I finally bought my first Ambassadeur fishing reel

    Well, that is not entirely true. I owned one when I was in my teens' but it was a low profile reel with an adjustable break. That was an amazing reel too. Recently I purchased an Ambassadeur Five Star and though it is a little small for catfishing, is an awesome reel. I tried to backlash the reel and it would not. It makes a great channel cat reel. It may even have the back to pull in a small flathead. I love it. The reel was new in the box and I only give $20 for it.

    Thank Gawd you didn't waste your money on an outdated Penn reel.

    even if it's a bit small it'll last and cast better than a lot of reels for the price you got it for. abu's are good stuff...

    Once you get your 1st you will probably want more.

    I have 30 of them, and it still aint enough:smile2:

    Yeah, I think it holds about 120 yards of 20. I fish mostly for channels and don't fish in heavy cover so I loaded it with 10 pound. That gave me almost 300 yards of line.
