    thanks for sharing mutt. that'll make you think of those ol'timers who went through wwii and korea and viet nam and desert storm and those out there in the middle east doing what they do to protect our way life. i didnt forget wwi vets just not very many left out there.

    yall are welcome thats why i posted it. made me remember my father too and all the rest of the ww2 vets that i have known over the years.

    I really enjoyed that....made me think of what the troops in WWI, WWII & Korea went through. All wars are tough, but those guys didn't have anything like the more modern armament or the food services and living conditions, modern clothing to help ward off the elements, that the military has these days, and a lot of the combat was almost face-to-face, not long distance the way most of ours is today. I've always said those were the real heroes.
