well i decided to try my hand at yes you guessed it...Lake X...went out at day break on monday morning 11-5-07 and anchored up in 25 feet of water near a large sweeping bend in the river channel...i threw my baits near the channel and waited almost 2 hrs before i got my first fish which was a 13 lb blue (pic) and then about and hour later i caught a 28 lb blue...i did not post the pic of this one because the sun was glaring off it's big white belly and the pic did not turn out...anyway...i waited about another 2hrs with a few bites and a couple pull downs but no fish...i was just gettin ready to pick up and move when i landed a 34 lb blue (pic)...so i stayed anchored the rest of the day with a few more strikes but no more fish...fished for about 7 hrs but i just could not hang with the "smack down crew".

Man, those'r some chubby blues - looks like they been chowin' down :smile2: I think that 75# with 3 fish qualifies as a smackdown to me (at least a Junior Smackdown).

3 fish totaling 75# is a smackdown. It would take me 75+ fish to get 75 lbs. Great catch. (Looking back maybe a 125 fish)

I would call that a Lake X smackdown.

We went for the flat noggin species on Lake X today and we had a moderate smackdown on them.:smile2:

man that's a real good thing when you can say a 26 lb flattie is moderate...that is the smack being laid down:big_smile:(in my opinion anyway)...i'm glad y'all got on some fish yesterday cause there was no shortage of wind...gotta stay on em cause they ain't gonna stay in that hole forever.
