Good choice, Charley. I have one of the spinning 8' Ugly Stick catfish rods and love it.

One question, when you buy the 7' Ugly Stick striper rods, do you want a spinning or casting model? I'm thinking about buying one, but haven't decided whether I want a casting or spinning outfit. They have a 7'6" Ugly Stick striper casting outfit and I really need the longer size. However, I need a 2 piece. That's the only thing that has kept me away from it, all their Striper series are one piece.

I have several of the 7 foot ugly stick catfish rods, I really like them...They wont work for most of my fishing, which is casting 8-ounces of sinker 100 yds or more, but they are fine rods for about anything else.
