It has taken some time, but this fish is finally in the books as the Texas state record Hybrid Yellow Bass.
Ray Sasser, who is the outdoors writer for the Dallas Morning News called me yesterday and confirmed that the fish is also a world record! He took some information and said there will be a "blurb" about it in this Sunday's edition of the newspaper.
The paperwork is being processed for the world record.

    Species: Hybrid Yellow Bass
    Date caught: March 12, 2005
    Location: Lake Fork, Texas
Weight: 4.75 lbs (previous record was 4.01 lbs)
    Length: 19"
    Girth: 18"
    Bait: Live Shiner
Angler: Curtis Campbell of Hurst, Texas

Woo Hoo!!! I'll take a blurb!

    Curtis,
Good to see the BOC represented by a member holding a State and World record, even if it's not a catfish!! Congratulations.

    Congrats!!!!

Still looking for my world record! I think I might have it for the smallest bass ever. Wasn't even as long as my little toe.

Yes, they are a cross between a white and yellow bass.

Man, I've never seen a yellow bass that big. I've fished Lake Livingston (Tx) hundreds of times and although I've seen some pretty good sized ones (2lbs) but never anything that big. I bet he fought hard, too. Congrats

Way to go. The biggest I have ever seen or caught was about 2 lbs.
Also check on the line class record also.
