I lucked in to my 2nd best flathead ever this morning at around 8:30 am.

I was fising fresh cut shad, on a 8/0 circle hook, abu 6500 reel 20-lb biggame line, ugly stik bigwater rod...I returned the fish unharmed to the river, and he weighed 45-lbs.

This is my entry for the year of the flathunter vs Rollo contest.

    More of the story.

As I was fighting this fish I reached down to grab my net and wham!!!! My back went out, " I have a bad back"...So I was in a delima, I could not bend over without being in terrible pain, quite a problem!.

So I decided to fight the fish a little longer and get him good and tired, I then waded into the river just below my knees, and gingerly reached down and grabed him, slowly very slowy raised up and walked onto shore.

I called my dad who only lives 5 miles from where I fish, and he came over and took the picture...I did not start fishing till 7 am and was planning on fishing all day, but I was back home around 9:30 because of my back.

But I will take a short trip like that anyday!
