That's a beautiful rod! But it's so pretty that I'd be afraid to use it. Where did you learn to make your own rods? Is there a good rod-making book that you'd recommend?

Its going to look a-lot better when its bent double with another 50+# blue, or flat head stuck to the end of the line:smile2::smile2: Thanks Bro's for the comments But these rods have 1 purpose only and thats to catch fish,Tough as nails..

The best book you can get,and is the only one you will need is
ADVANED CUSTOM ROD BUILDING; By Dale Clemens,,Copy and paste this, it will take you right to it..

    http://www.mudhole.com/Home/Advance...946e98e98ee62af6.e3iKaNePch4Re34Pa38Ta38Sbh90...

One more thing you might want to get is this DVD,

    http://www.mudhole.com/Shop-Our-Catalog/Rod-Building-DVDs/DVD-Custom-Rod-Building-Wrapping-Doc-Ski

I watched the dvd 3-4 times and read about how to set up the guides and handles a couple times and the rest I learned how to do on my own, looking at other work and just tried to do better. You will build a rod if you have the above etc.. Good Luck Ever need help just give me a pm,,

    Kenny,
I must be honest with you; the looks of the rod are not to my taste at all but I must also say that the workmanship looks outstanding and the quality of the components speaks for itself.
I applaud your talent and hope you get to see it with that big ol' fifty on it very soon. I am sure with what you have put into the rod it will serve you with distinction...W

First I want to thank everyone for the kind comments..and say I have been into art all my life and building things just comes natural.. I should have gotten into this years ago.Have people putting in orders already.

Winston , What do you like in a rod?..Lets say if you were to finish this rod, what would you do? Give me some ideas Bro.. I have a set of GNIC Titan guides / Gold rings with Titanium frames /for it,and the blank is Ox Blood Red. Its next in line.

Got the name tag on this Blue rod today and put another coat of finish on the marbling. It might need one more thin coat well see tomorrow..

    Thanks again,,Kenny.

What about a theme rod? Kind of hard to tell what the blank color is but I'm thinking .......Corvette, fire engine, flame (fire) American flag......

    Just a thought!
