    Hi NC Cat Fishermen(and Women),
Have a question about Hyco lake in the fall--winter seasons.Mainly fish for
    cats and crappie.
Have never fished this lake in the fall and winter.
What baits and methods are used? And is the fishing worth my trip down??

    Thanks for the help,,,mikeb:big_smile:

hyco is loaded with channel cats...also winter fishing in 1/4-1/3 of the lake is good as it is warmed from the hot hole....mack

If your looking for eating size cats, Hyco is the place to go. Mostly channels in hyco, i heard of a guy catching a 48 lb flat, but i think someone put it in there, but it was spose to been released, so there's atleast 1 good flat in there...any dropoff is a good place to fish for the channels. the best bait i've found for them is Fresh Chicken Livers.
    hope this helps,
    Mike
