I noticed that HB now say to restore units to their factory default settings before installing updates. I had never done this before and had never had a problem. I talked with HB and asked them if I had just been lucky or if there was a chance my unit had a hidden problem.
They told me that not restoring the defaults on my previous updates was not a problem but that now it is necessary to ensure a good install.
I'm looking forward to trying this latest one...W

Any SD card will be big enough for updates, and 256 MB is plenty. The update is only about 2.7 MB.

As soon as someone tries the new update please post results. I want ot try it but hate to be the first. It seems I have picked a fight with electronics ,and they win most of the time. I may need step by step info.

Can someone take some before and after shots for all the non-HB owners that are lurking to make a purchase. I love the bottom view of my current eagle/lowarance.

Are you sure they weren't talking about the 798 because it will get the new software. I have read straight from some HB GUYS posts elsewhere that the 797's firmware will not support this upgrade and no way to make it work. Not enough memory or processor speed etc...... Hope I am wrong.

I'll download mine soon but not sure when I'll get on the water to test it.

Hey CONGRATS 797 owners. Russ is correct. I just heard back from an HB Engineer that this is a TRUE statement!
