I do a lot of bank fishing "boat deprived". I purchased the RF25 and have used it with some success to find the depth and drop off from the bank and actually found some pan fish with it. However, I have had troubles with it. To get any kind of decent readings the water needed to be calm. That little bobber moving on the water too fast and you cannot get any descent readings. I have used it on a couple of the community fishing lakes "ponds" here in Springdale to get an idea of the layout of the bottom. Also, the bobber has a battery in it you cannot replace and when it does die you have to purchase another one with approx 2 year life span according to the hummingbird web site. Mine hasn't quit yet and I have had it for over a year.
