This is the time to start planning your "once in a life time" fishing adventure. The mature spawning sturgeon, returning from the Pacific Ocean are now laying in the head waters at the mouth of Astoria Bay in Astoria, Oregon. They begin their sojourn up the Columbia River there. The leviathans cruise beneath ocean cargo ships up to the Bonneville Dam at Portland, Oregon by the first of June. A mature, reproducing sturgeon, is six feet long and about 90-120lbs. Not many of those will be caught. The majority are of the 7-10ft. and larger variety. If you want to find your measure, just try one, not two or three, just one.
