I have never poached a deer in my life, but if there is a deer worth taking
a chance of going to jail over thats him.

They are both huge, nice mass, if I had a chance for that I"d be pretty excited. Surprised he got a chance at it, 90% of bucks are taken before noon on the first day of the season. Depending on the zone, he might have tags for 3 deer, but not 2 bucks. Deer got to be registered, thats so a guy dont' keep his tag and go shoot another, also it gives DNR an idea of how many are being taken. Nice Buck. I bet he won't do that for awhile.

I knew a guy who a long time ago wanted to go hunting with his buds, some were a little shady also, he figured he would just go and shoot one if he got a chance, and let someone else tag it. He borrowed a gun, but walking outa the woods he saw the game warden in the parking lot. He ditched the gun and walked up to the parking lot. The game warden wanted to see his license, he denied hunting, so the game warden handcuffed him to a tree and said I'll be right back. Well, he followed the guys tracks in the snow and found a rifle. The guy got a ticket the warden got a rifle. The guy was outa work for the season, short of cash, but spent most of it on court. Then he had to go to the auction and out bid someone on the rifle to get it back for the owner. He learned an expensive lesson. I think he has a lot of his own guns now.

You're right. I printed them out and compared them side by side. They are the same antlers.

I don't know they look different to me. This is the one that was shot by the poacher. Unless the other guy is tiny, the mass is not nearly what is in the other buck. Plus, this one has a greater tip to tip spread, from the looks of the pic. But, I have been wrong many times before

The camera was almost at the tip of the beams on that picture. Look closely at the bottom of the main beam on the left side of the picture, (deer's right main beam). Look right below the longest tine. You will see two elongated bumps on the under side of the beam. They are in both pictures. Now, look at the tip of that longest tine and you will see the same inward bend at the very tip of the tine. The longest tine on the other side (deer's left beam) has the same inward bend in both pictures.
