    Howdy fellow Texans,

I am new to the BOC and wanted to say hello. I am from Kerrville, TX which is about 1 hour West of San Antonio. When I get a chance to go fishing, I usually go down to Choke Canyon and put in at the 99 bridge. I am usually pretty successful there, but am always open to advice on how others catch fish there.

    Best regards,
    Marvin

Hi Marvin, I don't live in TX anymore but spent most my life in west TX.

Been to Kerrville State Park a few times, sure a nice place. We always stopped there on our ways to "San Tone".

Think I told you Welcome to BOC on another post so here it is again.

Welcome Marvin! I have fished Choke for the last three years. We launched at Caliham the first two years. We bought a place near the South Ramp so we have been launching there this year. We live in Burnet and are in the process of bringing things home. The temperature is normally about 10° warmer there in the winter. We have not fished upstream of the 99 bridge a lot. Down there we rod and reel fish. There are lots of fish all over that lake. You will like it down there.

    Hey Bigun,
You ever do any fishing at Lake Buchanon? I've thought about fishing there because it is much closer than Choke Canyon, but I don't know anything about that lake.

Waco and West are just right down the road from where I grew up in Temple TX. When I was younger I even went to school at TSTI just north of Waco. Being a Czech guy, I always loved those kolaches you can get there in West.

Growing up I fished in Belton Lake some but never really caught anything and most of my catfishing was done in the Brazos River upstream from the Marlin bridge.

    Welcome to the BOC Marvin.

A big HOWDY from Victoria, tx. I'm about 2 hrs east of San Antonio. I've only fished choke a few times and that was many, many years ago, so I'm not much help on that lake. Nice to have you on the BOC.

    Howdy and thanks,
I spent a few years in College Station a while back. I graduated in '94. I do miss the Wings N More and the cheese enchiladas from Los Nortenos over in Bryan.

When I was there, I used to do pretty good fishing the spillway at Lake Somerville.

    Best regards,
    Marvin
