I have a 1972 mitchell tri-hull. I want to mount a trolling motor on it. i am sure that some one on here has done it before. The t/m will have to mount to the deck but not sure how it will work because there is a six inch rise on the gunwhale around the platform. All help is greatly appreciated.

Depends on the kind of mount your trolling motor has but I built a riser block and fastened that to the front deck. Once you do that mounting the motor is pretty straight forward. You will have to make a template for the curve on the gunwale and transfer that to your riser. I made mine out of teak but cypress would work just as well and cost alot less.
