I know this is mentioned somewhere in the library but I can't seem to find it. How do you guys make your "slip weights" for drifting? I understand many guys use 8 1/4 oz. sinkers but what are you putting them in.

    Thanks!!

I don't think you use a slip sinker for drifting.
You use a slip bobber though.
As far as the slip sinker goes you can make most any sinker slip just don't tie a knot.
    Same goes for a bobber.
You just need a stop for both sinkers and bobbers.
They are generally something on your line thats bigger than the hole in the bobber/sinker. Beads, splitshot, a specially tied knot in a added piece of line, a rubber band and my favorite a twig.

After rereading your post are you asking how do we actually make sinkers?

I think he means 8-1/4oz weights put in a tube material making it a walking sinker.

you can use a shoe string to cover the lead or use heat shrink. I have seen both used. I have also seen a guy that had a plastic melter just dip his but I don't care for that cause the pellets are still individualized enough to snag.
