I'm sure it's somewhere on here, but what do you think is the best way to hook a bluegill on a limbline/rod and reel?

I cleaned about a 15 lb flathead that had 4 of my bluegill in it's belly with the back ripped from the hook.

I use 10/0 circle hooks and thought it was better to hook them towards the back.

If there is much current i usually hook thru lips, but in slack water i hook right behind the dorsal fin. make sure ya knock off the scale from hook point if ya go thru the back.

I always hook them through the top of the mouth and out above the nostrils . When a fish of any kind eats another fish 90% or the time he eats it head first .

i hook directly through eyes in current and below dorsel in slack. let em swim blind. makes a wild ride.
