I was a little confused as to how to apply to get a fish certified. No - I haven't caught one yet:angry:, but when that time comes!!! I want to be ready. I carry the paperwork in my tackle box.

For certification by LENGTH, can I do that on my own as long as I provide a pic, or do I still need a witness signature?

For certification by WEIGHT, is it required I take the fish to a store to get it officially weighed?

    Thanks guys!

length citations require a witness, weight citations require witness and store info . I assume this because the form (in pdf format) on the VDGIF website requires you to fill out one of these sections. http://www.dgif.state.va.us/forms/EDUC/EDUC-006.pdf

just kidding, you can do it by photo also... just read the form. LOL

By photo will only certify by Length though as I understand it.
