Hi guys
Another one from me,
How do you guys cut your bait fish? Is there a preferance to side fillets or steaks(cut throught the spine)? Heads or tails provided the bait is large enought to want to cut?

Just for a laugh, what is the biggest thing you've had at the end of your line?
Me and some friends hooked a hippo the other day on 3 hefty rods, was a good fight but I'm sure you all know how it ended:)

LMAO. Cut it all different ways and try it. I've caught fish on heads, gut pockets, and fillets. I never use the tails.

A hole bighead carp head about 7inchs long and 2inches across. No luck with it but there are blue cats around here in the 45kg+ range that I am trying to catch.:gotu:Are your friends still alive?

Gizzard Shad - I cut the tail off, slit the belly to allow the guts to hang out, Cut 2 slices threw the fillets on the side, Stab or puree as much as I can the gills to help release the gill oils and hook'em in between the eyes. I've had the MOST catches on this cut.

Imo, the bigger the bait the bigger the fish. I did however catch a 10-12lb blue cat on a very thin slice of a shad fillet.

Fillets of Spickjack will catch damn near anything. I love this bait.
